I was born and raised in Corning, New York, and had the opportunity to become an Eagle Scout as well as a year-round runner before graduating high school. I attended Case Western University in Cleveland for my undergraduate degree and joined the lab of Dr. Mohan Sankaran during my second year. While working for Dr. Sankaran I had the opportunity to learn about microplasma systems and participate in several studies designed to explore the nature of plasma chemistry. During this time I was involved in two publications including as first author on a study investigating efficient small-scale ammonia production published in Science Advances. After graduating in 2018 I was accepted into MIT’s doctoral program for chemical engineering and joined the Green group in January 2019 as part of the laser lab subgroup.
