Alexis Huynh was born and grew up in West Covina, California. She is an undergraduate student at MIT studying Mechanical Engineering. For her first three years at MIT, she was a member of MIT Motorsports, a project-team on campus that engineers an electric race car from scratch for the annual Formula SAE Competition. On this team, she has designed, manufactured, and tested different systems of the race car, and in her final year, she became the team's Mechanical Lead. In the 2023 competition, she was also one of the team's race car drivers. Alexis is interested in hydrogen technology and its applications in the transportation industry. She worked with Professor Amos in the GEAR lab at MIT to design and test pressure vessels for storing hydrogen. Currently, she is in Professor Green's group, where she is researching the integration of a hydrogen internal combustion engine with a liquid hydrogen fuel carrier. In her free time, Alexis enjoys crafting hobbies, like crochet and clay sculpting.
