Kariana has been named a member of the Society of Energy Fellows, with funding for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Julian Ufert and Akshat Zalte will be receiving Mathworks Fellowships for the 2024-2025 academic year.

His “prolific publication record, the high impact of his work, and the outstanding quality of his scholarly contributions,” have placed him in the top 0.05% of all scholars worldwide, by their accounting.

Anna Doner will be awarded a 2024 Bernard Lewis Fellowship at the Combustion Institute’s 40th International Symposium in Milan, Italy, in July 2024. 

The project on decarbonizing long-haul trucking using on-board liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) led by Sayandeep Biswas, Kariana Moreno Sader, and Professor William H. Green, was featured in a news article by the MIT Energy Initiative titled “Reducing carbon emissions from long-haul trucks – A novel approach to using clean-burning hydrogen”. Gwen Wilcox will receive the 2024 Ellen Mandigo award, the highest award for staff in the MIT School of Engineering! The award ceremony will be in the Samberg Center on June 25.

Automated reaction kinetics and network exploration (Arkane): A statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, transition state theory, and master equation software by Alon Grinberg Dana et al. was selected as Reader’s Choice paper from the International Journal of Chemical Kinetics.

Temujin Orkhon was awarded the top prize in the ChemE UROP poster contest for their project titled, “Uncertainty Improves Multi-Fidelity Machine Learning,” co-authored by PhD candidate Kevin Greenman, Prof. Bill Green and Prof. Rafael Gomez-Bombarelli.
