Sayandeep and Kariana’s analysis of a low-greenhouse alternative powertrain for long-haul trucking was published as the cover article in the Energy & Fuels (vol. 37 issue 22)

A feature cover story from Biswas et al. proposing powered trucks powered by liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) with onboard dehydrogenation was recently published in Energy and Fuels. A more cost-effective way to store and transport LOHCs will facilitate the realization of the decarbonization potential of hydrogen fuel.

Kariana Moreno Sader has won a Mathworks Fellowship for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

Oscar Wu has won a graduate fellowship, funded by Takeda, that will support his work on automating calculations of the energetics of transition states and free radicals, including solution phase during the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

Sayandeep Biswas was awared the Martin Fellowship for his efforts on decarbonizing long-haul trucking. 

Our paper “Predicting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon formation with an automatically generated mechanism for acetylene pyrolysis” by Mengjie Liu, Te-Chun Chu, Agnes Jocher, Mica C. Smith, Istvan Lengyel, and W.H. Green (DOI:10.1002/kin.21421) is one the top-10 most-downloaded articles from the International Journal of Chemical Kinetics over a 2-year period.

Congratulations to both Jonathan and Yunsie for winning two of the inaugural MIT Open Data prizes! They will receive the inaugural MIT Open Data Prize at a ceremony on October 28, for their work.

Kariana awarded Mathworks Fellowship!  Congratulations to Kariana Moreno Sader on being awarded a Mathworks Fellowship. This 3-year partial fellowship will give her more flexibility to focus on research problems that interest her.
